Brighton Festival – Book your accommodation soon!
Arguably, the best time to be in Brighton is during the second biggest Arts festival in Europe held every May. There is an extraordinary range of performances and things to do and see throughout the city.
We are lucky that Strawberry Fields is located right near the ‘thick of all the action’ of the Brighton Festival, most venues are just a short walk away – so we take every chance to see what’s on offer.
Our Brighton Guest House often plays host to troupes playing in the Festival and its cheekier little sister the Fringe. Over recent years we have had the 30 members of CirColumbia here for a month and at the opposite end of the spectrum also hosted the Fire Tusk Pain Proof Circus too. Both troupes honoured us by dedicating a performance to us here at Strawberry Fields.
This year its the amazing dance maestro Hofesh Shechter’s turn to direct events and we’ve booked lots of shows to check out what’s on offer from him. Not all events are ticketed and there is loads of free entertainment – whether its the engaging exhibition from Yinka Shonibare at the Brighton Museum (I caught his Sydney installation in 2009 – incredible) or the Artists Trail around Kemp Town allowing you a glimpse into local houses as well as seeing some fabulous art.
To celebrate the Brighton Festival we’re offering 15% off all bookings of two nights or more in May. Mention ‘Brighton Festival offer’ when you book. We’re already filling up so book your accommodation soon!
